Metal-Plast schließt sich Rewindo als Recycling-Partner an / Metal-Plast joins Rewindo as a recycling partner

In den mehr als 20 Jahren seit Gründung der Rewindo GmbH Fenster-Recycling-Service hat sich ein Netzwerk von Recycling-Partnern in Deutschland, Österreich und Belgien etabliert. Mit dem Beitritt von Metal-Plast Sp. z o.o. ist der Kreis der Partner im Rewindo-System zur Verwertung von alten PVC-Fenstern, -Türen und -Rollläden erneut gewachsen. Nach erfolgreichem Audit ist Metal-Plast Sp. z o.o. als Recyclingpartner der Klasse 1 eingestuft. Das bedeutet, dass das Unternehmen die gesamte Verwertungskette von der Sammlung von Altfenstern und Produktionsabfällen bis zur Wiederaufbereitung von PVC-Granulat abdeckt, das für die Herstellung von PVC-Profilen für neue Fenstersysteme wiederverwendet wird.

Noch aktiver im Bereich der Kreislaufverwertung

Rewindo ist eine Branchenlösung, die das Recycling von alten Fenstern, Türen und Rollläden aus PVC (Polyvinylchlorid) in Deutschland organisiert und steuert. Ihr Ziel ist die Förderung und Umsetzung einer nachhaltigen Abfallwirtschaft in der Bauwirtschaft durch die Erfassung, Verarbeitung und Wiederverwertung von PVC-Materialien. „Wir freuen uns sehr über den Beitritt zum Rewindo-Netzwerk, der es uns ermöglicht, noch aktiver im Bereich der Kreislaufwirtschaft von PVC-Altfenstern, insbesondere in Deutschland, tätig zu werden“, so Jędrzej Nosko, Market Development Director.

Bereicherung für das Rewindo-System

„Die Partnerschaft mit Metal-Plast ist nicht nur eine Bereicherung für das Rewindo-System in Deutschland, sondern erweitert auch die Möglichkeiten unserer Zusammenarbeit mit OknoRec, der polnischen Clearingstelle für das Recycling von PVC-Altfenstern“ – so Michael Vetter, Geschäftsführer der Rewindo GmbH. Sowohl Rewindo als auch OknoRec sind EPPA-Mitglieder und Partner von Recovinyl und VinylPlus.

Wachsende Nachfrage nach Ersatzfenstern in Polen

Metal-Plast hat seine Aktivitäten seit 30 Jahren kontinuierlich auf das professionelle Recycling von PVC-Fenstern ausgerichtet. Heute ist das Unternehmen einer der größten Verwerter von Hart-PVC in Europa und arbeitet mit mehr als 800 Fensterherstellern zusammen. Da der Prozess der energetischen Sanierung in Polen weiter voranschreitet, hat das Unternehmen auch dort eine neue Dienstleistung eingeführt: das Recycling von ausgebauten PVC-Fenstern. Metal-Plast ist RecyClass-zertifiziert und ist außerdem seit Jahren Mitglied der EPPA und der Recovinyl-Initiative. Jedes Jahr werden im Werk in Świebodzice bis zu 30.000 Tonnen PVC verwertet und als hochwertiger Rohstoff an die Hersteller von Fensterprofilen zurückgegeben. Das sind mehr als 60.000 Tonnen eingesparte CO₂-Emissionen. In Polen gibt es momentan eine wachsende Nachfrage nach neuen Fenstern, so dass ein wichtiger Entwicklungsbereich bei Metal-Plast die Bewirtschaftung von Nach-Gebrauchs-Abfällen ist. Derzeit wird an einem Projekt gearbeitet, um die Recyclingkapazität auf rund 45.000 Tonnen pro Jahr zu erhöhen, was den Beitrag des Unternehmens zur Kreislaufwirtschaft weiter verbessern wird.

Nachhaltigkeit als Herausforderung

„Nachhaltigkeit ist kein Trend, sondern eine Herausforderung. Besonderer Wert wird auf den sparsamen Umgang mit Ressourcen und die Vermeidung von Abfällen gelegt. Einer der Schlüssel dazu ist ein geschlossener Materialkreislauf. Wir glauben, dass unsere Partnerschaft mit Rewindo zu einem noch effizienteren Kreislauf von PVC-Abfällen beitragen wird“, fasst Marta Uciechowska-Sówka, Metal-Plast Trade and Marketing Director, zusammen.

In the more than 20 years since Rewindo GmbH Fenster-Recycling-Service was founded, a network of recycling partners has been established in Germany, Austria and Belgium. With the addition of Metal-Plast Sp. z.o.o., the circle of partners in the system for recycling old PVC windows, doors and roller shutters has grown once again. Having successfully passed the audit, Metal-Plast Sp. z o.o. is a class 1 recycling partner, meaning that the company handles the entire recycling chain from the collection of old windows and production waste to the re-processing of PVC granulate, which is reused for the production of PVC profiles used for new window systems.

Rewindo is a German industry initiative that organises and steers the recycling of old PVC (polyvinyl chloride) windows, doors and roller shutters. It aims is to promote and implement sustainable waste management in the construction industry through the collection, processing and reuse of PVC materials. „We are delighted to have joined the Rewindo network of recycling partners, which will enable us to be even more active in the recycling of old PVC windows, especially in Germany,“ says Jędrzej Nosko, Market Development Director.

Both Rewindo and OknoRec are EPPA members and partners of Recovinyl and VinylPlus.

Growing demand for replacement windows in Poland

Metal-Plast has continuously focussed its activities on the professional recycling of PVC windows for 30 years. Today, the company is one of the largest recyclers of rigid PVC and works with more than 800 window manufacturers. As the process of thermal upgrading continues in Poland, the company has launched a new service: recycling of dismantled PVC windows. Metal-Plast is RecyClass-certified and has also been a member of the EPPA and the Recovinyl initiative for years. Every year, up to 30,000 tonnes of PVC are recovered at the plant located in Świebodzice and returned to window profile producers as a high-quality raw material. This is more than 60,000 tonnes of CO₂ emission avoided! In Poland, there is currently a growing demand for replacement windows so an important area of development at Metal-Plast is the management of post-consumer waste. Project work is currently underway on a project to increase the recycling capacity to around 45,000 tonnes per year, which will further enhance the company’s contribution to the circular economy.

Sustainability as a climate challenge

„Sustainability is not a trend, but a climate challenge. Particular emphasis is placed on the economical use of resources and avoiding waste. One of the keys to this is a closed material cycle. We believe that our partnership with Rewindo will contribute to an even more efficient circulation of closed PVC“ – summarises Marta Uciechowska-Sówka, Metal-Plast Trade and Marketing Director.
